Need input on Soccer stats

We’re in the process of creating a default list of soccer stats for our new Statistics module (which is almost done). So the question is, what statistics should be included as a default set of stats for any soccer team? Naturally, each team manager will be able to edit these stats categories to fit their specific team, so we’re just looking for the “default” set. Thanks for the help! Cheers, |

The MLS site seems to have a good set of default stats defined. Does anybody know what all the acronyms mean? Is this a good template to use for our soccer stats defaults? |

For a GK (GoalKeeper), SHO means shutouts. This should probably be in the default stats for keeper. |

This is what i got from the player in my team who is concerned with statistics, fairness in substitutes, nasty jobs (being linesman) etc. I will ask him join this forum so he can see what you guys have to say about it. “Interesting stats for an amateur soccer team could be the following;

You have plenty of good suggestions. One point: different leagues have different methods of awarding wins and draws, so having a default of 3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss will not apply everywhere, particularly in youth leagues. Wins, draws, losses, goals scored, goals against, individual goals, individual assists, yellow and red cards should pretty much cover you in a 1.0 set of stats. |

Hey folks, Hurrah! We’ve got Statistics pretty much ready to go. Before we release it to the general public, though, we need to do a limited beta test with specific teams. If you’re interested in participating in this limited testing, please email us at support@teamsnap.com and make sure to include your Team ID. (It’s the first number you see up in the URL when you login to your team.) Cheers, |

Hi, back after a year of absence. Forgive me if i have overlooked something, but i do not see link between the results of a game and the players stats. When the team wins a game, it would be pretty when the stats of the players that played in that game would also show a win. With that, i could calc the averages too. I deleted all games i putted in at the start of last season. Since i did not use teamsnap no info is lost. But what if i did fill in all stuff last season, how would i be able to fill in the new season without deleting the previous one? regards, |

Note on the C/E columns
C is for Caution, which is signified by a yellow card For a single game, a player could get a single caution or a single ejection, or two cautions and one ejection (the second caution means the player must be ejected, so he is shown a second yellow, then a red), or a single caution and an ejection, which means he first did something to earn a caution and then later committed a foul that would get an ejection in any event. |
