We’re in the process of creating a default list of rugby stats for our new Statistics module (which is almost done).

So the question is, what statistics should be included as a default set of stats for any rugby team? Naturally, each team manager will be able to edit these stats categories to fit their specific team, so we’re just looking for the “default” set.

Huzzah! We’ve got Statistics pretty much ready to go. Before we release it to the general public, though, we need to do a limited beta test with specific teams. If you’re interested in participating in this limited testing, please email us at support@teamsnap.com and make sure to include your Team ID. (It’s the first number you see up in the URL when you login to your team.)

Rugby stats would need to be split into two groups. Teamwide stats and Individual.
Individual:
Code Desc Notes
A.5 A side halfs Number of halfs player has played on A side (“first XV” “A scuad”)
TRY Tries Scored A try is a touchdown in rugby, it’s worth 5 pionts -then a kicker attemps a conversion
POINT Points (TRY5)(CK2)(PK*3) total points scored by players (tries+conversion kicks+penalty kicks)
KO Knock-on Dropping the ball forward is illegal in rugby (this stat is controvertial if you don’t have total times ball was carried by player)
PEN Penalties Number of pentalties committed by players that resulted in Penalty Kick for other team.
RC Red Card Player sent off by referee
YC Yellow Card Player sent to “sin bin”
CA Conversion Attempts
CK Conversion Kick
PKA Penalty Kick Attempts
PK Penalty Kicks

Teamwide stats (verry important!!!!!!!!!)
BA Back Attacks otherwise know as ”# of offensive options
BAS Back Attacks Successful
SCRUM Scrums
SW Scrums Won

Nice work guys! Could I get the template so I can start using it please? You might have left out a drop goal (DG) worth 3 points of course or else I missed it in the list (entirely possible!).

We have yet to implement preset Rugby stats. We hope to have it in the near future and will use your input. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to use this to create your own stats on your TeamSnap site.
