TeamSnap Forums : Need input on Cricket stats

We’re in the process of creating a default list of cricket stats for our new Statistics module (which is almost done).

So the question is, what statistics should be included as a default set of stats for any cricket team? Naturally, each team manager will be able to edit these stats categories to fit their specific team, so we’re just looking for the “default” set.

howzaat

As a cricket player some of the fields i would like to have for each player wold be

Runs Scored
Balls Played
Number of 4’s
Number of 6’s
Overs Bowled
Wickets taken
Runs given
Maidens
No-Balls
Wides
Catches Taken
Stumpings
Byes
Leg Byes
And for the team we should have
Extras
Total runs
Total overs

And these should be in such a way that when the new score is added it should update the existing score.

Great! Thanks for the info. A couple questions:

Are all of these simply tracked numbers? In other words, are any of these averages or any other kind of calculated field?

Are there standard acronyms used for each statistic? Like, is “Runs Scored” labeled as “RS”?

Huzzah! We’ve got Statistics pretty much ready to go. Before we release it to the general public, though, we need to do a limited beta test with specific teams. If you’re interested in participating in this limited testing, please email us at support@teamsnap.com and make sure to include your Team ID. (It’s the first number you see up in the URL when you login to your team.)

UPDATE: We’ve got all the teams we need for our limited Stats beta. Thanks for all the help, and stay tuned for the full rollout of the new Stats module—it’s gonna be great!

hiren

also need to include Not Out option for the batsman, and the average formula would be different
runsscored/(innings – notout) i think.
also need to seperate Games played and Innings
sometimes a person doesnt bat or bowl, so we should be able have an option where it says the plays has played the game.
