We’re in the process of creating a default list of football stats for our new Statistics module (which is almost done).

So the question is, what statistics should be included as a default set of stats for any football team? Naturally, each team manager will be able to edit these stats categories to fit their specific team, so we’re just looking for the “default” set.

It will depend upon position as there are tons of stats… but that may be too involved. Maybe just offense and defense split (and allow a player to have stats for both – IRONMAN football) and special teams

Offense:
Pancake blocks
Rush attempts
Rush Yards
Rush TDS
Passing Attempts
Passing Completions
Passing Yards
Passing INT
Passing TD
Receptions
Receiving Yards
Receiving TDS
Fumbles
Fumble Recoveries

Defense:
Sacks
Tackles
Assist (2 of these should add up to 1 tackle)

Special Teams

PAT
Field Goal Blocks
Punt
Punt Yardage
Punt Return

I think this is a good start of a list… I’m looking forward to this feature!

I’m lovin this site so far. My suggestion would be to create a Flag Football Default category or subcat under football. My assumption is that there are more recreational teams out there than there are real football teams. I played on about 5 different tackle football teams throughout pal, pop-warner, hs, and college. Since the tackle football career has ended (w/ age), i’ve been a part of 10 or so different flag teams.
